Jewett City firefighter made a quick stop of a bedroom fire at the Indian Ridge Apartments located on East Main St. Monday morning. Car 256 was the first arriving officer and had a three story, wood frame, multi unit apartment building with smoke showing from the A and C sides. After the walk around, Command advised the first in companies that he had a fire on the top floor and that all occupants were accounted for. A crew from Engine Tank 156 entered the building and made a quick knockdown of the fire while a crew from Ladder 156 helped with ventilating the building. Firefighters from Lisbon and Griswold helped with overhaul while Voluntown and the Taftville FAST stood by. All companies cleared about an hour later.
